Eligibility criteria

Applicants wishing to study in Saudi Arabia on a full scholarship must meet the following eligibility criteria for the KAUST 2022 Scholarship to Study Abroad.
  • Aspirants from all over the world (international students)
  • Applicants must provide evidence of at least a bachelor's / bachelor's degree (16 years) or equivalent training for a master's degree or a master's degree that leads to a PhD degree.
  • To apply for a PhD program, students must have a bachelor's and master's degree (18 years old) or an equivalent degree
  • Have a grade point average of 3.5 / 4.0 in the Bachelor / Master degree. Last year's average CGPA was 3.7 / 4.0.
  • The students had no jobs or other financial support.
  • Be in good physical and medical condition.
  • Language Requirements: The King Abdullah University of Science and Technology requires proof of English proficiency through one of the standard tests. The language requirements are listed below.

English language requirement

KAUST requires a minimum TOEFL result of 79 for the IBT (Internet Based Test) or 6.0 for the IELTS (International English Language Testing System). The KAUST entry code is 4107. Only official TOEFL or IELTS results are accepted. TOEFL or IELTS scores are not acceptable for the test taken by an educational institution for admission to that particular institution.

TOEFL or IELTS scores are not required if the applicant holds a degree from an accredited institution in the United States, Canada, United Kingdom, Ireland, Australia, or New Zealand.

KAUST does not require a GRE to enter. However, we strongly encourage students to take the GRE General Test. A high quantitative score in the GRE increases student application. Official exam results should be sent directly to ETS. The KAUST entry code is 4139.

Documents are required

The KAUST scholarship application consists of six components, including:

  • Letter of intent
  • Résumé (résumé)
  • The university has already provided official copies of the certificates/grades/graduation certificates/study certificates from each of the participating institutes. The scanned Transcript Transcript provided by the university in the mother tongue should be uploaded to the online application form along with a certified English translation. All documents submitted for your transcript must include the university ranking scale. If recorded, a formal closing protocol must be sent to the home office in a sealed envelope before arrival (during the onboarding process):
