Eligibility criteria for the 2022 Monash University Scholarship

To qualify for the Monash University Scholarship, candidates must meet the following requirements:
  • Required language: English
    • General requirements for the English test: (6.5) total in IELTS (no band below 6.0) and (79+) reading 13, listening 12, speaking 18 and writing 21 in the TOEFL.
    • Requirements for the English language test for art, business and business: (7) a total of IELTS (without a band below 6.5) and (94+) 19 reading, 20 listening, 20 speaking and 24 TOEFL writing.
  • Eligible Countries: All countries in the world

  • Bachelor's degree that requires at least four years of full-time study in a relevant area and usually includes a research component with distinction 1 or 2A in the relevant area in the fourth year.
  • A course that has been rated by the appropriate department, faculty, and committee as equivalent to Honors 1 or 2A in the relevant area.
  • A part-time master’s program usually includes a research-intensive part consisting of at least 25 equivalent full-time years including a dissertation. In principle, it is expected that research or dissertation will be graded 2A. In the absence of an assessment, the inspectors' report will be taken into account.
  • have qualifications that the GRC believes are equivalent.
  • The scholarships are awarded based on the applicant's academic performance, research performance and previous research experience.
  • Previously, research awards awarded by the Australian government or Monash were given to postgraduates for no more than six months.
