Eligibility criteria:

Interested applicants must meet the following admission criteria in order to complete higher education with the Stependam Hungricum Scholarship in Hungary.

  • Eligible are students from all over the world (international).
  • Applicants must be at least 12 years old or have an equivalent education for a bachelor's degree.
  • The prerequisite for enrollment in a Master's / M.Phil course is a Bachelor / Bachelor / Transcript or equivalent training.
  • To be admitted to the PhD program, applicants must have a master’s degree/transcript or equivalent training.
  • Age limit as required; 18 to 23 years for Bachelor, 30 years for Master and 3 years for PhD
  • Students should be in good physical and medical condition.
  • Language requirements: There are no specific language requirements. Non-English speakers must provide proof of fluency in English through the IELTS, TOFEL or English proficiency letter from your previous institution.

Stipendium Hungrycom Scholarship 2022/2023

With a healthy and comfortable environment in the middle of Europe, Hungary offers high-quality education. Hungary also has the largest number of per capita Nobel laureates in science and various scientific inventions, from vitamin C to the Rubik's Cube.

The Stipendium Hungricum scholarship program was launched by the Hungarian government in 2013 and has been coordinated by the Temps Public Foundation since 2015. The program focuses on bilateral education cooperation agreements signed between or between the sending countries/regions and the ministries responsible for education in Hungary. More than 70 shipping partners from 5 continents are currently participating in the project, and the geographic scope of the program is expanding every year. The scholarship program aims to meet the growing demand for foreign students to study in Hungary, increase the number of students since the program began and support the general internationalization of Hungarian higher education.

The number of Stefan-Ungar scholarship holders has increased significantly since 2013, with an increase in the proportion of self-paid foreign students at Hungarian universities. The proportion of foreign students at Hungarian universities doubled between 2013 and 2019 and the proportion of Hungaricum scholarship holders quadrupled.

The number of available scholarship places, as well as the number of applicants and award winners for the Stipendium Hungaricum, is steadily increasing. In 2020, more than 35,000 applications were received and more than 5,000 scholarships were awarded, suggesting that the Stipendium Hungercom Scholarship has been a standout program since its inception. The program is run by the Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade and coordinated by the Tempus Public Foundation.

The Stependam Scholarship Program 2021 is a fully-funded scholarship for international students that covers tuition, accommodation, HUF 43,700 (BS, MS) and HUF 140,000-180,000 (PhD) monthly scholarship and health insurance.
